Tasks and Responsibilities

Installation of fiber optic and network cables.
Clean and inspect fiber connections.
Label equipment and cables with customer specific designations.
Perform Smart Hands support on network and server hardware.
Carry out verification and certification measurements (i.e. using Fluke kits).
Providing planned maintenance or circuit migration support.
Troubleshooting hardware problems.
Racking and de-racking of any device.
Power cycling a router, server, switch and soft-booting a server.
Supervise other third party subcontractors.
Inspecting devices to assess equipment status.
Providing loop-back cables in order to test circuits remotely.
Re-seating or replacing components or cables.
Testing PDU power output using voltage meter.
Swapping removable storage media.
Installing or replace modular equipment components.
Perform RMA/Reverse logistics on hardware components.
Installing and replacing Fiber Optics or Gigabit Interface Converters.
Labelling/inventory equipment plus digital picture and serial number / barcode scanning.
Provide 24 x 7 support as part of a technical rota - on day and / or night shifts.

Must be very experienced in general IT software tools and Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrate a flexible approach to the role, with the ability to adapt and react to customer needs.
Demonstrable “hands on” experience with test equipment, network build, etc.
